How does PRP work?
Your blood is mainly composed of a liquid called plasma, which contains microscopic components: red cells, white cells, and platelets. Platelets are crucial to the blood clotting process and contain many proteins called growth factors which play a vital role in healing injuries and regenerating distressed tissue.
Platelet-rich plasma contains many more platelets than typically found in blood. Platelet concentration (and growth factors) can be up to ten times greater than that of typical blood samples, so it may promote soft tissue cell regeneration.
The Vampire Facelift applies platelet-rich plasma (PRP) extracted from your own blood which is injected strategically into your treatment area, stimulating the production of collagen, fatty tissue, and blood vessels.
The result? Your body regenerates those areas, leading to naturally radiant facial skin, eliminated or softened wrinkles, and greatly increased volume – without surgery.
If you want to eliminate or decrease your facial wrinkles or crow’s feet, give your skin a lush, luminous glow, and pump up your skin’s volume, advanced PRP may be for you. It requires no anesthetic, hospital stay, or long recovery time. Vampire Facelift procedure is one of today’s most effective facial procedures.
These are just a few skin conditions VFL can treat:
- wrinkles
- crow’s feet
- smile/frown lines
- sun damage
- volume loss
- loose skin (drooping eyelids, cheeks, and neck skin “turkey neck”)
How is my Vampire Facelift performed?
Your VFL will be fast and easy. At your complimentary consultation, Dr. Malik will discuss your medical history, current health, and expectations. Be sure to mention any medications you’re taking or any concerns you may have. Dr. Malik will be pleased to answer all of your questions.
On the day of your procedure, Dr. Malik will draw a blood sample from your arm. It takes just a minute and causes little or no pain. This sample is then placed into a centrifuge and spun until its platelets and growth factors (8 different types) are separated from the red blood cells and concentrated into a plasma. This process is repeated until a dense, platelet-rich serum is created – your PRP.
Next, Dr. Malik will inject a small amount of filler into your face’s key areas. This filler, known as hyaluronic acid, is a natural chemical found in your body. It helps to give your skin lift and makes it more elastic, so you’ll get maximum benefit from your VFL.
Then Dr. Malik injects your PRP, activating regeneration. If you prefer, you can be given a local anesthetic to numb your skin, but most patients report little or no pain during the procedure.
That’s it – you’re done. No anesthetic, hospital stay, or long recovery times. Many patients get their procedure during their lunch breaks. After your procedure, you can get right back to your regular activities – no recovery time necessary.
What are the benefits of getting a Vampire Facelift?
Almost too many to name! A Vampire Facelift is:
- versatile: VFL can be combined with other treatments like facial filler (Juvederm, Restalyne, others), Botox, Dysport, Kybella, microabrasion, or microneedling. Speak with Dr. Malik about combining treatments before undergoing Vampire Facelift
- autologous: PRP is created from your own blood, so there’s no risk of a negative reaction or infection from a donor blood sample
- non-surgical: no incisions, scarring, anesthetic, hospital stay, or long recovery time
- short and sweet: your procedure takes no longer than 30-45 minutes, including prep time – much quicker than the time you’d spend getting surgery
- consistent: no risk of a surgical miscalculation that could require another surgery and more cost to fix the error
- safe: over half a million PRP procedures have been performed worldwide, and few patients report any side effects
What results can I expect?
Dr. Malik is more than just a doctor – she’s a highly trained aesthetic engineer who creates beautiful transformations. Your happiness and satisfaction are her measures of success.
Most patients report seeing the positive effects of their treatment right away. As your growth factors continue generating new tissue over the next few weeks, you’ll see your skin gaining volume while your wrinkles keep fading and softening. The positive effects will continue improving for up to 3 months after your treatment, and you can enjoy the results for a year or possibly longer.
Many patients choose to undergo a second treatment about 3 months after their first treatment to enhance appearance and promote smooth skin texture improvements even further.
You may experience slight swelling, pain, bruising, soreness, or bleeding at the injection sites. This should go away within a day or two. If you experience serious side effects like dizziness, fever, rash, fainting, nausea, vomiting, or other severe symptoms, don’t wait – call Dr. Malik or go to the nearest emergency room right away.
As with all medical procedures, results will vary depending on age, the severity of atrophy, genetics, general health, and other environmental conditions. Please discuss this with Dr. Malik during your complimentary consultation to learn more.

Virtually anyone seeking smoother, lusher skin is a good candidate. However, some people may have medical situations that make them less than excellent candidates. These can include:
