MICRO-LASER PEEL

At Malik Medical Aesthetics, we are proud to introduce the newest skin rejuvenating procedure, the Micro-Laser Peel™. This remarkable new peel offers our patients immediate, but lasting results with minimal discomfort, and minimal time off. The Microlaser Peel is very effective in eliminating age spots, acne scars, blemishes, fine lines, and wrinkles. Laser energy intensely stimulates new collagen growth as well, leaving your skin tighter, healthier and looking younger. The MicroLaserPeel can literally take years off of your face!

The MicroLaserPeel is an intra-epidermal laser peel that precisely ablates the outermost layers of the skin. Laser peel precisely removes the very superficial layers of the skin and the treatment can individually customized to the nature of the problem being treated. The depth of the peel is regulated and can be as minimal as 10 microns or as deep as 50 microns. The precision in Sciton Joule technology allows for perfect coverage and uniform ablation with minimal discomfort that was not possible with other laser systems or high-grade chemical peels.

SOUTH BEACH PEEL™

South Beach Peel combines Broadband Light (BBL) treatment done initially and then followed by a MicroLaser Peel using the Sciton Joule Laser platform. Brown spots or freckles are removed with the BBL, while the MicroLaser Peel removes the outermost layers of the skin for a smooth glow. Patients see a great improvement in sun damaged spots, fine lines, and wrinkles as a result of collagen tightening due to this combination treatment. All it takes is 30-45 minutes of your time.

After the treatment, pigmented spots will turn dark and your will experience mild redness and warmth, a sunburn-like sensation. Over the next 3-5 days you will see sloughing of the outer layers of skin. Redness may persist up to seven days and can be covered by using makeup on the sixth day and onwards. The number of treatments depends on your skin’s condition and desired results. South Beach Peel is great for the face, neck, décolleté and hands.

It is recommended to have the treatment done once every 6 months to maintain the results and for anti-aging of skin.

MANHATTAN PEEL

The ProFractional laser treatment and a Broadband Light treatment are administered back-to-back during this laser peel which significantly improves skin texture, helping to smooth acne scars, fine lines as well as sun damage in the form of age spots, sun spots, redness, freckles and other forms of unwanted pigment caused by environmental factors.

ARCTIC PEEL™ / BLIZZARD LASER PEEL / NANO PEEL

The Arctic Peel, Blizzard Peel, and Nano Peels are all similar laser peels. They are slightly less aggressive than the MicroLaserPeel but a step more advanced than a chemical peel. The Arctic and Blizzard Peels do not remove as many of the outer layers of the epidermal skin. Therefore, this peel does not require the use of a topical anesthetic gel. Rather, these laser peels use very cold air on the skin to achieve adequate anesthesia, hence the name of this laser peel. The results are a fresher, tighter look to your skin. This is an excellent “jump start” to a good skin care program.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the MicroLaserPeel?

It is a minimal to full epidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the problem to be corrected: wrinkles, scars, keratosis, or pigmentation problems.

Who should consider a MicroLaserPeel?

The patient looking for better results than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels can offer, yet, still, has minimal down time for the healing process.

How is the MicroLaserPeel different from Microdermabrasion?

Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the outer layer (stratum corneum, 10-15 microns) of the skin. Patients may become dissatisfied when the perceived results do not equal the expense and the number of procedures required.

The MicroLaserPeel is a minimal to full epidermal peel (20-50 microns). Because this procedure goes deeper into the epidermis, it is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and deeper peels.

How often does a MicroLaserPeel need to be done?

One procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 to12 months, but additional procedures can be performed as required. A package of three to four treatments is best suited in most scenarios. Individualized complimentary consultation will be done to evaluate you for the appropriate level of the treatment and to discuss the various options available.

What can the patient expect?

Smoother, healthier more vibrant skin. You will notice a significant and immediate change in skin texture and tightness. The results are manifold better compared to microdermabrasion or light chemical peels.

What type anesthesia is used?

A topical anesthetic is applied before the procedure. The procedure is well tolerated by most people.

Do I have to wear any type dressing or bandage after the procedure?

No dressings are required. We will prescribe an ointment such as Aqua fore or Vaseline or other skin care products appropriate for you. This is used as a barrier to keep the air away from your skin while you grow new skin layer (epithelium). You will probably use it for one to two days after the procedure.

How long is the healing process?

The healing process varies from patient to patient but will generally take from two to four days. The procedure can be performed on Thursday or Friday and you can return to work the following Monday. Immediately following the procedure you will feel as if you have a bad sunburn. You will have minor sloughing and itchiness the following day. By day two, redness will begin to fade and by day three any redness can be easily covered by makeup.

How much does the “Weekend” MicroLaserPeel™ cost?

Treatment price will vary and can be determined with a complimentary consultation at Malik Medical Aesthetics centers located close to you in Philadelphia Metro area. Please contact us to schedule your complimentary individualized consultation by calling (856) 478-4700.
